Hello!
Hi there!
A little about me...
I went to my first Yoga class when I was 24... and honestly I kinda hated it. Everyone around me was doing headstands (and I couldn't - still can't) and then at the end the teacher told me to think of something nice to say to someone I didn't like. I thought this isn't for me, I'll go back to HIIT and Pilates, thanks.
It was only through years of trying different styles and teachers did I find what Yoga meant to me.
I felt this sense of relief when I went to my first ever Yin class. It gave me permission to slow down, to do a type of class I'd never experienced before.
Then for my 30th year I set myself a challenge - YTT
My guiding principle is 'a lifelong dedication to learning' so for my 30th birthday (year) I wanted to set myself a goal. Pilates teaching or Barre would have been a more obvious choice, but I needed a stretch target. My Yoga Teacher Training really was something special.
From my wonderful teachers to the beautiful souls I did my course with, I learnt about Yoga's philosophy, the history, it's origins. How the physical practice (asana) as wonderful, powerful and disciplined as it is, is only one of the eight limbs of Yoga. We have so much to explore on this journey to Samadhi.
For all my students, I offer - options, variations, a challenge, creative sequencing, breath work, exploration but ultimately space to find your own practice and path.
